| So, a couple weeks ago I graduated from Capital. I am now a college graduate. As weird as it sounds, I don't feel much different. I am relieved to be done with classes. However, I just feel like I've got a whole new set of challenges to overcome. But, anyways, I've been meaning to post about graduation and the past couple of weeks. So, since Laura is watching Opera(oops, that's supposed to read Oprah. I have no idea how I mixed that up), I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.
So, graduation was alright. It lasted about two hours. I was worried that I would be uncomfortable, but the AC was pumping and the seats weren't that bad. So, I sat through the graduation, listened to some songs, speeches, etc. The speeches were all your traditional graduation-y speeches. The cool thing was that the guest speaker was Senator Sherrod Brown. He shook all the graduates hands as they walked across the stage. I got to shake a senators hand. I know it's not a huge deal, but I felt special. Oh yeah, and I graduated Cum Laude, which was also exciting. I'm not trying to brag, but my ego just won't let me ignore it:) But yeah, a lot of my family was there. That was awesome. Thanks to everyone who came. I understand the complications some other people had, and thats fine. Things happen. But it was cool to have people there.
After graduation we went to Starbucks to kill a little time before dinner. Then after Starbucks we went to Bexley's Monk(aka The Monk). The food was great. The atmosphere was awesome. They set us up at a set of tables that made a square. Even though Dad was on the opposite Corner, I could easily talk to him across the table. We were the only ones in the group section as well. So, we got to be as loud as Laura and my families would like without bothering anyone else. It was a lot of fun. Okay, back to the food. I got a 12 Oz. Strip Steak. It came with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. Cory had some extra Bleu/Blue Cheese with his steak, so I got some of that, which is always awesome. I love Blue Cheese(especially on my steak).
Okay, so I got a few things after graduation. I bought some workout clothes. Laura and have started going to the gym three times a week. I only had one pair of workout shorts, so I bought a few more. I also bought a few shirts. I also bought a new polo shirt. I've been meaning to get a few more for a while. I almost always pass them up. But Laura wouldn't let me pass this one up. It was like 15 bucks at Target. Awesome. I also bought an external hard drive. It is a Western Digital Essential Edition Hard Drive. I've been wanting one of these for about a year. I went to get all of my old projects from the computer in the recording studio at Capital, and my DVD method was taking too long. So, I looked at BestBuy.com and saw the hard drive on sale. I got the 160 GB version for $70. It's usually $170. So, yeah, now I have enough storage to save all my Pro Tools Sessions three times. I only saved them once, because three times seemed ridiculous. But I have lots of space(for now). Oh yeah, here's what it looks like.
Okay, so thats what I've bought.
The rest of my time has been spent hanging out with Laura, spending the weekend in Kentucky and watching a lead singer in a band get arrested: We were at the Barbecue Festival in Owensboro to see Adam (Lauras brother) and his band The Same Page(who I recorded last semeseter) play. The band before him decided that they wanted to play longer than the time allotted. The promoters didn't like this so they cut the sound. The band kept playing without PA. You could only hear drums and sound from their guitar amps but they kept going. So, the promoter went to get the security(police hired by the festival) to get the band to leave the stage. When the Police arrived, the band kept playing. At least for a few seconds. The police took the singers guitar and started to escort him off the stage. So, the lead singer punched one of the cops in the face. Yeah, bad idea. In about 3 seconds there were 4 cops forcing him to the ground. He kept struggling for a little while. I didn't see it, but I heard they tazered him in order to stop his struggling. He was then arrested and taken to spend the night in jail. It meant that The Same Page would have to cut their set short because the show took about 45 minutes to get back on track. But they got to play an extra set the next day. It was well worth it.
So, those are the highlights. I feel like there's something I'm missing. The past few weeks have been filled with little trips to Easton, Starbucks, etc. So, we've had a lot of fun. I should start my new job next week. I'll fill you all in on that when it happens.
Oh, I remember what I missed. Laura bought a kitty. I tried to take a picture of her. She is kind of ADD and therefore won't sit still. Also, my phones camera kind of sucks. This is the best shot I could get.
Her name is Amelia, and she is incredibly playful. In this picture she is about to attack a napkin. She likes to play with napkins and receipts.
Okay, so thats all for now. I hope you enjoyed the Jimmy updated.

REPOST AS "1 WORD QUIZ " | | |
| So, as all of you who anticipate the next installment of my blog already know, it has been a month and a half since I've last posted. I am truly sorry to anyone who has been going through the horrible withdrawl pains that my absence brings. I'm addictive, what can I say? But in order to keep you all from going crazy anticipating the next entry I am writing one right now.
My internship continues to get better and better. I have spent most of the past two weeks at Musicol working with Pro Tools. A lot of it is editing umms and pops out of a "How to Succeed at Real Estate" series done by a local real estate giant, but I also assisted in a few sessions and did a mixdown of one song on my own. It's pretty sweet. I am working in a recording studio. Now, granted, I still punched the centers out of records, counted sleaves, boxed up orders to be sent out and mowed the grass this week. But, all those kinds of things need to be done in a studio. So, I am getting some experience. I love it.
Lauras internship seems pretty awesome too. She is learning a lot about how offices work. On top of that she is doing great work. She's going to get a great recommendation when she leaves that place. I'm very happy for her. It seems like we are both going to get pretty good jobs when we leave college. And that definitely reduces my stress level:)
Speaking of Laura, her mom moved to Florence last weekend. We went down on Friday to help Becky, Ken and Adam move into the house. Well, technically we all helped Becky move her things into the house. Ken is still working in Owensboro and Adam still has another month and a half before he graduates. So for now they are doing the back and forth commute on weekends. It seems like a tough thing to do, but sometimes its what needs to be done. We had a good time staying there. Laura and i really didnt want to come back to school. If it weren't for the fact that we all had to sleep on air mattresses it would have been perfect.
While we were in Florence we went to eat dinner at my Moms. I wanted to spend a little more time with Mom, Bill and Brian. There just wasn't enough free time to stay longer. We had errands to run, boxes to move, moving blankets to fold, etc. So, I was glad to spend a few hours with my family in Florence. Next time I'll try to find a little more time. Brian really wants me to go try out the hot tub. I wont complain about sitting in the hot tub for a while.
Okay, so, thats all for now. I may throw a quiz in later, but hopefully this will help all of you that are on the brink of my xanga starvation. I'm sorry for the anguish I may have caused. Please forgive me.
Jimmy

| So, I will spare you the school and internship post. School is moving along, and the internship is moving at the same pace. The only really exciting thing in either of them is that I have a location recording with Musicol on Sunday. I can't wait to see how they record in a live setting outside of the studio. Other than that, school's school.
The past two days of school, however, have been cancelled. Getting snow days in college really is a beautiful thing. I went to one class on Tuesday, where we learned about copyright law. It cleared up a lot of questions I had over the reading. Anyways, after that classes were cancelled and I spent the rest of the day hanging out at Lauras. Then, when I woke up on Valentines Day, I found out that the entire university was closed. I was pretty excited about that. I called of from my internship due to the weather, and then took Laura to Easton to get her hair cut(it is a very cool cut by the way). I did a little shopping at Target(gloves and a bonus V-Day present chocolate rose). Then we went to Panera. After that I dropped her off and came back to the dorm to get ready for our date.
Okay, so the date needs its own paragraph. We went to Martini downtown. It's a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. It has been Lauras favorite for a long time. I think I agree with her now. I got an 8 oz. filet on top of lobster meat with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak was so tender. It was essentially a surf and turf with two sides for 35 bucks. Not only was it a good price, but it tasted amazing too. Laura got the Chicken Saltimbocca which also came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It looked really good too. Then she had Creme Brulee for dessert and I had the Hazelnut Chocolate Bread Pudding. Let me tell you, we left there stuffed and happy. I love that place. And if you think 35 bucks is too much for one meal, well, most of the menu is around 15. So, its just slightly more expensive than Olive Garden. But if you want a Steak and Lobster special you'll pay a bit more. I so highly recommend Martini. You should go there. And if you are coming to my graduation ceremony in May, believe me, you will go there:)
Anyways, the night was great. More important than the food was the company. We sat there, talked, ate, she had a drink and just had a fun time being together. I was thinking about it later, and realized I didn't care about anyone else there. I know that sounds obvious, but I am usually worried that my clothes look funny or something. I seriously only remember the people that were behind Laura. Everyone else was background. It could have been that they were extras hired and I was a Truman Show-esque main character. I loved it. And if you think that's too sappy, well, get over it. This is my blog and I'll be as emo as I want to be.
We got back to her apartment after dinner and exchanged presents. She got me a really cool fogless mirror. I had complained that I hated getting out of the shower and having to clean the mirrors off in the bathroom to shave. By that time my face is drying and it makes shaving a bit harder. So, now I get to shave in the shower. Also, Laura told me she would buy me some new blades to put on my razor. That's really nice. I won't have to shave with disposable razors anymore. I bought her some jewelry, but I'll let her write about that if she wants to talk about it. But no Mom, I am not engaged. I just thought I'd clear that up before people started asking;)
On that note, I think I am going to go now. I told you all the important stuff you need to know. Remember that the quiz will be next week. I hope you were taking good notes to study from.
